Until I Found You by Stephen Sanchez
+ Duet Version featuring Em Beihold
Wedding First Dance Choreography Tutorial
skill level: beginner
Style: Sweet & Romantic With A Retro Vibe
ABOUT THIS TUTORIAL
Until I Found You by Stephen Sanchez sounds like a song from your grandparents' time, but is actually a modern first dance song with a romantic, retro vibe. Perfect for couples who are looking for a new-ish song that not everyone in the world has done (yet!) but in the style of the great classics like Elvis Presley and Frankie Valli. In this tutorial, beginners will learn everything they need to have a sweet, romantic and natural-looking first dance, complete with twirls, special moves that align with and highlight specific lyrics, and of course, dips and (optional) lifts! The choreography is applicable to both the original version of this song, and the slightly more popular Em Beihold duet. Both versions are fantastic; you can't go wrong if you choose this song!

Of yourse I’m going to say YES, you can learn to dance for your wedding online and quickly, even if you've never danced a day in your life. Like learning a new language, learning to dance takes effort and consistency. You won't be able to just watch the videos and then magically be able to dance if you don't actually practice the steps. But I promise, this is still the easiest-to-learn wedding dance tutorial that exists online, IMHO. Some couples will find this online method of learning even easier than in-person lessons because you will see exactly how the steps are supposed to look before you even try them.

This tutorial takes the average beginner couple approximately three to four hours to complete, including practice time between steps. If you have the time, I recommend focusing on one step per practice session. It will take you a little less than a week to complete if you break it apart into one or two sections per day. If you are a marathon learner or test-crammer, you might set aside several hours on the weekend to learn each step in the course before putting it together into choreography. You’ll still need to practice the dance leading up to your wedding to build muscle memory!

Yes! In the promo video above, we left out the final chorus, but the videos inside the tutorial teach you choreography to the entire song. The choreography section also includes ideas for modifications you may want to add, like a lift or a kissing dip, that are not included in the video above.

You’ll have access for a year from the date of purchase. You don’t need a year to learn, and most couples do all their learning in a compressed time frame once they feel the pressure of their looming wedding date. But I want you to be able to enroll when it makes sense for you and work on this at your leisure, without worrying about any dates except your wedding date. Wedding planning is stressful! Learning to dance is supposed to be fun!
Love the idea, don’t love the song?
