Popular First Dance Songs by Andy Grammer

Andy Grammer has become one of the most popular artists for first dance songs in the past couple of years. Dare I say it, but he’s kind of like an Ed Sheeran — multiple, really good options for first dance songs that are not only beautiful but fun to dance to.

Here are some of my favorite Andy Grammer songs for your first dance.

“FRESH EYES” by Andy Grammer

I was first introduced to this song a couple years ago by a couple who had been together for 10 years before getting married. If you’ve been with your partner for a while, this is a great first dance song option. The lyrics are about seeing your partner with “fresh eyes,” which is so important once you’ve been together for a couple years.

Also, in my experience, a lot of long-time dating couples are past the butterfly stage and have moved into a deeper relationship where they feel free to have a little fun instead of being super lovey-dovey during their first dance. If that’s you, check out this little choreography demonstration that I recently shared on YouTube.

“ALWAYS” BY ANDY GRAMMeR

Always by Andy Grammer has a similar feel to Fresh Eyes — it’s upbeat, a little hip hop, a little soul. The lyrics are perfect for a wedding song:

You see, your clothes your shoes and your best friend
They ain't gonna stay the same
Your reckless years and your missed age
I promise you they'll fade away
But trust me, the one thing
That nothing in this world can change
Is you and me will be always

I love wedding dance songs that allude to the future and the change that is going to come. There will always be lots of challenges down the road, but your person is your person no matter what.

“I AM YOURS” BY ANDY GRAMMeR

I couldn’t include first dance songs by Andy Grammer without including I Am Yours. This song has been incredibly popular at my wedding dance studio, but I still don’t think it’s overplayed. It’s message is simple — I am yours, now and always. What could be better for a first dance song?

I also want to point out that this is a great choice for same-sex male couples. Some love songs have pronouns in them that end up knocking them out of the running for couples who don’t want their first dance to include she/her or he/him. This song starts with the words: “just another love song from a simple man…” Perfect!
