Turning Page by Sleeping At Last
Wedding First Dance Choreography Tutorial

skill level: beginner

Style: All Romance All The Time

about this tutorial

I have had Turning Page by Sleeping At Last on my list of favorite wedding first dance songs since I first heard it all the years ago while crying (no, you’re crying!) during the wedding scene from the Twilight movie. Even if you’re not into vampire love stories, you cannot deny that this song makes you feel something. It has all the best features that make up a great first dance song - a quiet, intimate start, a slow build, a little bit of drama and passion, crescendos…and this beginner-friendly choreography highlights each beautiful moment. You’ll learn how to execute all the steps in the video above, plus the tutorial includes two choreography videos demonstrating how to dance both to the entire song AND a shortened version. If you are wanting to feel confident, romantic and like you are the only two people in the world during your first dance, Turning Page might the song for you.

can we really learn to dance online?

Yes, you can learn to dance for your wedding online and quickly, even if you've never danced a day in your life. Like learning a new language, learning to dance takes effort and consistency. You won't be able to just watch the videos and then magically be able to dance if you don't actually practice the steps. But I promise, this is still the easiest wedding dance tutorial that exists online. Some couples will find my online method of learning even easier than in-person lessons because you will see exactly how the steps are supposed to look before you even try them. Plus, the unique design of the course helps complete beginners slowly build their skills and confidence without throwing you into the deep end of overly complicated choreography.

How long does the choreography take to learn?

The entire tutorial takes the average couple about three hours to complete, including practice time between steps. If you have the time, I recommend focusing on one step/section per practice session. It will take you a little less than a week to complete if you break it apart into one or two sections per day. If you are a marathon learner or test-crammer, you might set aside several hours on the weekend to learn each step in the course before putting it together into choreography. You’ll still need to practice the dance leading up to your wedding to build muscle memory. Every time you practice you will look and feel more natural and relaxed.

How long will i have access to this course?

You’ll have access for a year from the date of purchase. You don’t need a year to learn, and most couples do all their learning in a compressed time frame once they feel the pressure of their looming wedding date. But I want you to be able to enroll when it makes sense for you and work on this at your leisure, without worrying about any dates except your wedding date. Wedding planning is stressful! Learning to dance is supposed to be fun!
