How to Actually Learn How to Dance for Your Wedding, Even If You Have 'Two Left Feet'

When I had to stop teaching lessons during the North Carolina shutdown, I thought I would have all this time to focus on other parts of my business, like writing blog posts, posting on Instagram regularly and creating a new online wedding dance choreography course every week.

HA.

For the first two weeks, I was all GO GO GO, (and I did publish three new online choreography courses!) but then the quarantine took its toll on me and some days, I literally did nothing except hang out with my baby.

I have no regrets about that. My baby is amazing. 😍

But at some point, I needed to get it together and it took enlisting an unofficially official "accountability partner" (shout out to my gal pal Renee of My Mindful Nest) to actually get anything done.

And that brings me to the subject of accountability and how it relates to dance lessons.

Anyone can learn how to dance for their wedding, even if they have '“two left feet.”

One of the reasons my students end up doing such a great job during their first dance is because of accountability. You are accountable to each other to get the steps right so you can pull off amazing first dance moments, like in this photo of my former students, Robert and Shelley.

You aren’t only accountable to your partner, but also to your teacher!

But when you take dance lessons, you are also accountable to your teacher.

Having dance lessons on your calendar forces you to spend the time learning and practicing so you get these amazing end results.

That’s why it’s so important to invest in private wedding dance lessons, first dance group workshops, or online wedding dance lessons.

When you pay for something and put it on your calendar, you are much more likely to actually put in the effort. And putting in the effort is the only way couples who start with “two left feet” end up looking and feeling confident on the dance floor on their wedding day.

I know I need someone to hold me accountable in order to reach my goals and I am happy to do that for you!
